Vern Law, Pittsburgh Pirates, 7/19/1955
Pittsburgh Pirates 4, Milwaukee Braves 3
There are 2 reasons for including this game here. First is that a pitcher in 1955 pitched 18 innings in a game, as amazing as that sounds. And the second reason is that this game was featured on the Pirates news site today due to the passing of Hank Aaron, Vern Law was talking about how he was able to retire him in 7 straight at-bats.
When I read the story, I thought that Vern Law pitching 18 innings in a game had to be a misprint, but alas it is not.
